Approximately five miles away, the ancient mining town of St. Just has a good range of shops as well as several pubs and restaurants. From there, along the coast towards St. Ives, are scattered little village communities which thrived during the mining era, but now sit peacefully where the miles of open moorland meets the rugged Atlantic coastline. Disused engine houses now stand at the edge of cliffs, looking particularly majestic with the backdrop of a stunning sunset. The accommodation is cosy and comfortable, and in very good order throughout; there is very much a "cottagey" feel with doors, skirtings and ceiling beams in dark stained natural timber.
