West Cornwall Cottage Holidays

The name Smugglers Cottage conjures up visions of revenue men on horses chasing smugglers across the cliff top fields of a wild and windswept Cornwall and you would be very close to the truth – or at least the alcohol part of the story! – This pretty little barn conversion was the former home of a widow with eight children who managed to feed her children by brewing and selling beer from the barn in the mid 1850’s! - Now completely renovated to a very good standard, this enchanting and romantic little hideaway nestles amid four similar holiday properties which are located near the village of Trewellard. The barn is situated in a very rural position and completely surrounded by open fields which are criss crossed with accessible paths and offer spectacular walking with panoramic cliff top views of the Atlantic Ocean. Smugglers Cottage is a cosy and very comfortable “bolt hole” for all seasons if you just feel the need to get away for a while and totally relax. The two village pubs are accessible either by car or a short walk over the fields and they both offer a warm welcome serving really good local produce and ales.
