want to know moreA detached cottage in a beautiful setting, amidst open National Trust countryside, on the rugged Atlantic coastline between St. Just and St. Ives. The property enjoys lovely sea and rural views, and is an excellent base from which to explore the endless miles of coastal pathways. The remains of a stone age wall borders the charming natural garden, which opens onto an ancient field system and a vast expanse of moorland; the cottage is ideally placed to enjoy what can be stunning sunsets. Wild rabbits, moles, perhaps a lone fox, may be spotted in the garden; horses, sheep and cows are occasionally accommodated in nearby fields. Within 2-3 minutes drive lies the tiny village of Zennor, with its ancient church and traditional country pub; also close by, the Gurnard's Head Hotel is an ideal spot for a pub lunch or evening meal after a bracing walk along the coast. Just over two and five miles respectively, the old mining communities of Pendeen and St. Just offer a range of pubs and restaurants. Penzance and St. Ives are both approximately eight miles away. This is very comfortable and characteristic accommodation, furnished in traditional style, with latched timber doors, painted wood flooring, and many pretty decorative features. A lovely holiday home; there is oil fired central heating.
Please note: The approach to the property is directly from the coast road, which can be busy during the daytime in high summer; small children and dogs will need to be kept under control when outside of the cottage.
"One of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. Great location!"
