Churinga is a stunning barn conversion that nestles deep in the heart of West Cornwall and yet is only a ten minute drive to either coastline and easy access to a breathtaking selection of golden sandy beaches and picturesque little fishing coves. Located on the edge of the traditional Cornish village of St. Buryan, the most endearing factor relating to this charming holiday home and there are many! is the sheer size of the property. For a family of four or even just a couple, the 45 foot lounge/living space is more than adequate and would probably even accommodate the local flower show as well! The addition of a vaulted ceiling, picture windows, open beams and high Velux windows gives this property a wonderful feeling of light, space and acres of room in which to relax in comfort a real benefit which is sadly lacking and most sought after in many of today's self catering properties. Churinga which means inscribed sacred stones is owned by a local carpenter and therefore not surprisingly, there is a profusion of natural wood used throughout the barn including hand made doors, stripped pine floors and the wonderful double bed which has been creatively designed to appear as if it's on the point of collapse!
Outside and to the front of the property there is a very pretty and secluded garden with a lawned area, raised terraces and a patio for that late evening sundowner. To the rear of the barn there is a delightful communal courtyard with cherry trees and a pond with its own fountain. This property is a genuine gem and certainly tremendous value for money given its size so book early you have been warned!

West Cornwall abounds with a rich selection of traditional country villages and hamlets. They are, quite simply, what makes this part of the world so special. Set among rolling farmland and located three miles inland from Porthcurno, the delightful village of St Buryan can be found. Named after the Irish Saint Buriana, the centre of the village is dominated by the 14 century church which acts as a distinctive landmark for miles around together with its and its circular graveyard. The church is a grade 1 listed building and its six bells are said to have the heaviest peel in the country. Legends state that the 6th century saint (Buriana) was buried here after perishing whilst trying to kidnap a local king, despite Cornwall's patron Saint Piran's attempts to save her. Agriculture is strong in St Buryan, with ploughing competitions and horse shows still a regular part of summer festivities. This rural village is surrounded by several stunning ancient monuments. The famous Merry Maidens stone circle and The Pipers standing stones, to name a few, and there are ancient Christian crosses all around the neighbouring area. A few miles to the north of St Buryan lays the Carn Euny Prehistoric Village, an ancient settlement dating back to the Iron Age, which was active during Roman times.
