Visitors to West Cornwall are being given the opportunity to raise a glass on their holiday and in doing so help the lifesaving work of the RNLI.
West Cornwall Cottage Holidays has teamed up with multi award-winning Cornish Brewery Keltek, to launch a fundraising initiative, which both companies hope will grow in popularity raising valuable funds for the RNLI.
Guests staying with West Cornwall Cottage Holidays, which has over 130 properties in the area, are being given the opportunity to pre-order beers from the Keltek range, which includes top tipples such as Trevithick’s Revenge, Even Keel and Keltek King.
For every order made, which is delivered to the holiday property, West Cornwall Cottage Holidays is making a donation to the RNLI.
“We are always looking at ways of enhancing our guests’ stay with us and know that many people enjoy the opportunity to try real Cornish food and drink as part of their holiday.
“So when we were approached by Keltek to see if we would be interested in offering their products to our guests we naturally had to sample a few to see how good they were for ourselves and were delighted.
“When we sat down we thought it would be great to incorporate a fundraising element to the initiative and what better organization to support than the RNLI which carries out such fantastic work around the Cornish coast, and from our guests perspective the fact they can enjoy fantastic Cornish beer whilst at the same time raising money certainly seems to be catching on,” said West Cornwall Cottage Holidays MD Austyn Hallworth.
With the company playing host to thousands of visitors every year, the initiative is already proving popular with guests and is something that Austyn hopes will build as the months go by.
“We are seeing more people coming to Cornwall across the year and hope that with more guests ordering Keltek Beer for their stay we can raise growing amounts of money for the RNLI,” said Austyn.
Andy Hawken, General Manager of Keltek Brewery believes the fundraising campaign is a great idea
“From our perspective being able to promote our range of Cornish beers to visitors to Cornwall is fantastic. The fact we can do this and at the same time help raise money for the RNLI is something we are delighted to be part of,” said Andy.
Sennen Lifeboat Cox Terry George welcomed the fundraising initiative.
“We are delighted that Keltek and West Cornwall Cottage Holidays have come together to create this fundraising initiative which will help the work of the RNLI,” said Terry.
