Getting Outdoors in October Getting Outdoors in October

Brace the great outdoors and shift in season by getting out and about in some of west Cornwall’s most embracing open spaces while enjoying a cobweb-blasting array of things to see and do.

At The End of The Land Walking Fest (20th-21st October) introduces the first annual weekend of walking for the Penwith Landscape Partnership with a trio of walks including Chûn Castle and Woon Gumpus, Mên-an-Tol Circular and Mulfra Hill. Take in soul stirring delights such as wild moorlands and ancient standing stones as you discover the living, working landscape of west Penwith.

Contribute to the town’s Plastic Free status and take environmental action with the Surfers Against Sewage Penzance Promenade Clean (10am, 27th October), join the Friends of Poldhu who meet every first Friday of the month (7pm) for an uber social litter pick, sign up for Marazion’s Beach Clean (8th October), Hayle Clean-Up day (14th October), or organise your own beach clean before rewarding your altruism with a warming stint in a beachside bar or café.

And don’t forget to swing by Trengwainton Gardens before they close for winter on 28th October to roam the gloriously colourful autumnal grounds and admire their annual pumpkin and squash display in the Walled Kitchen Garden.
