What better way for sports enthusiasts to explore west Cornwall than by signing up to an outdoor sporting event at a super scenic venue?
Not only will you be able to flex your running/swimming/cycling muscles, but you’ll also be immersing yourself into some of the area’s most spectacular natural landscapes to boot.
The 30th June is the date for this year’s St Ives Biathlon, which will wow spectators and participants alike with its aerial-like views across St Ives Bay as you slog your way on foot to the beautiful Carbis Bay before swimming back to the harbour for a well-deserved pint and pasty.
Keep your ear to the ground (the exact date becomes public knowledge by word of mouth) for details on the Brisons Swim at Cape Cornwall, and enquire at the Jubilee Pool to take part in any of their regular aquathlons (swim around the salt water pool followed by a run to Newlyn and back across the promenade) and other sporting events.
Then there’s INTOTRI, a series of triathlons staged across the county with events scheduled in Penzance on 8th July, or runners can challenge themselves to the Endurancelife Classic Quarter on 9th June: a 44.5 mile Ultra Marathon along the south coast at The Lizard (solo and relay options available).
