Forget the fact that Christmas and New Years are over – west Cornwall is awash with entertainment to see you through the colder, post-festive months that’ll reinvigorate every type of visitor.
For a dose of art, Penzance’s Penlee House Gallery and Museum hosts ‘The Gibson Dynasty: Pioneers of Photography’ until 6th January and will be followed by David Haughton in St Just (13th Jamuary-17th March); while The Old Coastguard in Mousehole presents ‘Monochrome’ - an exhibition of prints and paintings by four Cornish-based artists: Gillian Cooper, Catherine Harvey Jefferson, Paul Wadsworth and Trudy Montgomery.
Head to Praa Sands Community Centre on 14th January for the smooth jazz sounds of the Neil Maya Quartet, or if you’re still in a Christmassy mood, Lamorna Village Hall hosts A Christmas Carol on 11th January.
The Acorn in Penzance continues to sate all entertainment appetities with its eclectic schedule of events, including Bessie Smith ‘Empress of the Blues’ on 11th January, Sarah McQuaid on 25th January, and Hannah White and Special Guests on 27th January.<< Back to articles
