September Highlights in West Cornwall

From art and theatre to historic houses, whether you wish to relish the relative quiet of west Cornwall’s late summer period or indulge in a spot of culture, the area is awash with things to see and do.

The fantastic Heritage Open Days allows visitors to step inside a series of properties for free from 7th-10th September, including Levant Mine and Beam Engine, Trengwainton Garden and Kresen Kernow in Redruth (drop in to the Pasty & Mining Festival [8th-10th September] while you’re there!)

For art, visit Penlee House Gallery & Museum in Penzance for John Armstrong: Dream and Reality (16th September-18th November), The Picture Room at Newlyn Art Gallery for Samuel Bassett (until 16th September), or Tremenheere Gallery for Newlyn Society of Artists – Critics Choice 2017 (3rd-24th September) and Jeremy Le Grice (30th September-12th November).

Catch a theatrical performance such as The Country Wife, Cyrano De Bergerac, Patience, Hansel & Gretel and various Storytelling sessions at The Minack; or a concert at The Acorn courtesy of A Night in Buenos Aires (10th), Northern Soul, R&B, Motown and More…(22nd), Hannah White (23rd) or Mitchell and Vincent (29th).
