  In 1893 it would have been possible to post a letter in this property and take a few minutes to catch up with the local gossip! however almost 100 years later this former village Post Office has been transformed into an enchanting holiday home which is located in Paul, a quiet and relatively sleepy little village that overlooks the picturesque fishing village of Mousehole. Recently renovated to a very comfortable standard by the new owners, this pretty and deceptively spacious cottage nestles beside the village stream and is set back in a terrace of similar properties. The fully enclosed and south facing garden is well stocked with flowering shrubs and plants and is ideal for that early cup of coffee in the morning or for a well earned glass of something stronger after a hard day on the beach! This delightful property also benefits from full central heating and a small wood burning stove in the lounge which makes it extremely cosy in the winter and therefore accessible all year round.

  The village of Paul is very friendly with the local pub, the Kings Arms just a short stroll from the cottage where you will find a warm welcome, a good range of traditional Cornish real ales and a selection of delicious home cooked food. The village of Paul sits high above Mousehole and the regional hub of Penzance and is therefore easily accessible by car or public transport. Both locations offer a wealth of shops, galleries and some of the best restaurants in West Cornwall.   Entrance up several small steps and through the garden to the small conservatory and front door. Entrance into Dining Room: A very light and spacious room with pretty soft furnishings and matching window seat, original beams, recessed shelving and Victorian fireplace (decorative only) a large oak table and chairs and views over the garden. Door to Lounge: Similar in size to the dining room with an open granite wall, beams, fireplace and small wood burning stove, sofa seating, matching soft furnishings, flat screen TV with free view channels and DVD player. Kitchen to the rear of the dining room with fully fitted units, stone tiled floor, gas hob, electric oven and grill, extractor fan and hood, washer/dryer, Dishwasher, microwave and door to rear courtyard. Stairs to first floor and Bedroom One: Large room with double bed, integral wardrobe, pretty window seating with views over the garden. Bedroom Two: Twin beds and integral wardrobe and storage space, window seating with views over the garden. Large family bathroom with stripped wooden floor, bath, shower cubicle with electric shower, hand basin, W.C. Heated towel rail and lovely rural views over adjoining farmland. Outside: Large front garden with small pond, flowering shrubs, wooden garden furniture and BBQ. Parking for one car directly outside the cottage.

  With a profusion of narrow streets, donkey wide alleys and history at every turn, Mousehole is the epitome of a picturesque Cornish fishing village in a simply stunning setting. In fact Dylan Thomas who spent much of his honeymoon in the village described Mousehole as the prettiest village in all England.
  Located just three miles westward from Penzance on the curve of Mounts Bay, the village is centred around an almost completely circular harbour with a small and truly charming beach which always proves popular with families, particularly those with small children.
  Mousehole has largely resisted modern day trappings and remains unspoiled by 21st century developments. Working fishing boats still ply their trade from the harbour which is protected from the might of the Atlantic by two sturdy breakwaters, (Cornwall’s earliest and begun in 1393) and today are accompanied by visiting yachts and pleasure craft, making the panorama of the harbour truly peaceful and idyllic.
  The village itself is a veritable maze of granite and slate cottages, winding narrow streets and cobbled alleyways which have a magic and mystery all of their own amd just waiting to be explored. Virtually unchanged by time, its natural beauty and charm still attracts many artists, drawn by its unique atmosphere and beautiful light.
  The famous National Trust cliff walk round the Land’s End Peninsula starts at Mousehole. One of its most beautiful stretches is south from the village to Lamorna Cove and the Coastal Footpath continues towards Penberth and Porthcurno. The whole walk is full of breathtaking scenery and the immediate and surrounding coastline is officially designated an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ by the National Trust.

  Mousehole has a fine selection of craft and gift shops and small art galleries and in addition to some excellent pubs and restaurants (which serve the freshest fish you will ever enjoy, landed and delivered daily from nearby Newlyn).There is an enviable choice of tearooms serving quite delicious Cornish cream teas with mountains of golden clotted cream and superb fresh crab sandwiches.
