Complimentary home cured bacon, sausages and free range eggs as you wake up for your first breakfast in glorious West Cornwall – tempted? The Dairy is a charming and exquisite little barn conversion which forms part of a small but stunning group of properties which are located within a peaceful and tranquil valley yet are only four miles to one of the best beaches in West Cornwall. The beautifully appointed mini estate that forms Rowan Barn dates back to around 1740 when it was part of the Godolphin Estate which was owned by the fourth Duke of Leeds. Nestling in five acres of grounds, it is surrounded by mature trees, lovingly tendered lawns, an orchard, a trout lake (which you can fish by prior arrangement) and a Cornish meadow. The estate is teeming with wildlife such as badgers, foxes, rabbits, birds of prey and not to mention the herd of free range pigs (where the bacon and sausages come from!) The current owners have spent several years renovating the Rowan Barn properties which are now a highly acclaimed and successful B&B operation with The Dairy as the only dedicated self catering cottage which has also been awarded a Visit Britain four star rating. Rowan Barn is situated equidistant from Helston and Penzance (approx seven miles) and is a short drive to the three miles of golden sands at Hayle. The area is dotted with traditional little Cornish villages, some great pubs, brilliant attractions and numerous good restaurants serving some of the finest fresh fish and seafood in the world. The Dairy is a fabulous little bolt hole for two who just want to get away from it all and enjoy a rest and some peace and quiet. It will certainly not disappoint however, you will need to book early!
